The rear end is designed that way, You will break the plug long before you damage the threads on the rear final drive. The plug is $6.00 to$7.00 and the O-ring is about $2.50. I have not broke mine (yet). But I have a spare with O-ring just in case.

Just changing the oil is pretty straight forward. Pull the front wheel. Loosen the top fork plugs. Loosen the triple clamp bolts. Pull the fork legs out (one at the time). Mark them left and right. Pull the top fork plugs off. Drain the oil. Flush 3 times with AFT - drain well between flushes - especially the last one.
